Job description
The QA/QC Technician is responsible for performing on-site quality inspections on utility-scale solar and energy construction projects to ensure all work complies with approved engineering drawings, project specifications, and applicable safety and quality standards. This role focuses on identifying deficiencies early, documenting findings thoroughly, and collaborating closely with field teams to maintain quality, schedule, and project warranty requirements. The position is based full-time on the project site through completion and serves as a daily point of contact for quality-related coordination with field leadership and client representatives.
Responsibilities

Perform on-site quality control inspections across electrical, civil, and mechanical scopes of work.

Verify that all work is installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.

Generate, manage, and track punch lists to document deficiencies and required corrective actions.

Conduct internal inspections following trade self-checks and prior to client walkthroughs.

Support the execution of the project Quality Management Plan (QMP) by monitoring adherence to quality procedures.

Protect project warranty by identifying, documenting, and escalating quality issues as early as possible.

Document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions in a clear and organized manner.

Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, and calibration documentation.

Update and distribute quality tracking reports to the project team on a regular basis.

Upload required documentation to client or project management systems in a timely manner.

Follow all site safety policies and procedures during inspections and daily activities.

Identify and report safety concerns observed during inspections and stop work when necessary for safety or quality reasons.

Support site safety initiatives and coordinate with safety personnel as needed.

Work closely with field engineers, superintendents, project managers, and commissioning teams to resolve quality issues.

Participate in daily planning and coordination meetings to align on quality priorities and inspection activities.

Support client walkthroughs and inspections by preparing documentation and addressing quality-related questions.

Communicate quality findings clearly and professionally to field teams and leadership, providing guidance on corrective actions., This role is based on an active construction site, primarily supporting utility-scale solar and energy projects. You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions and spend much of the day standing, walking, climbing, and moving around areas with ongoing electrical, mechanical, and civil construction activities. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with frequent interaction with field engineers, superintendents, project managers, commissioning teams, and safety personnel. You will regularly use construction documentation platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office to manage inspection records, punch lists, and quality reports, while adhering to all site safety policies and procedures.
Requirements

Experience performing quality control or construction inspections in solar, electrical, or heavy construction environments.

Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and standard inspection processes.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify deficiencies and document findings clearly and accurately.

Ability to work independently in a field environment with limited supervision while managing multiple inspection tasks.

Comfort working full-time on active construction sites with ongoing electrical, mechanical, and civil activities.

Practical understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and inspection principles in construction settings.

Ability to follow and support site safety policies and procedures during all inspection activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Utility-scale solar project experience.

Background in electrical construction or electrical inspection.

OSHA 30 certification (preferred).

Experience using construction documentation platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with punch list management tools and quality tracking systems.

Exposure to solar, electrical, mechanical, and construction quality control practices.
