Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the Grid Beats Software Architecture team to consolidate Grid Beats applications into a single coherent architecture and shared development practices. You will define the long-term architectural roadmap, guiding platform strategy and technology evolution. You will ensure interoperability across embedded devices, backend systems, and analytics platforms while maintaining governance and standards. You will shape the platform to improve grid resilience through scalable, secure software and drive cross-functional collaboration. This is an opportunity to influence the direction of a complex portfolio that underpins future grid-connected devices management. Responsibilities Define and maintain the long-term software architecture roadmap for Grid Beats, including platform strategy and convergence. Lead the transition to a coherent platform with shared services, common interfaces, and standardized technologies. Evaluate and guide adoption of new technologies and architectural approaches. Define system boundaries, interfaces, data ownership, and communication patterns across applications and embedded devices. Ensure interoperability between embedded software, firmware, middleware, backends, analytics, and GE applications. Establish API, data model, and versioning guidelines; drive architecture governance and design standards. Develop shared platforms, libraries, and services to reduce duplication and improve maintainability. Ensure reliability, scalability, maintainability, cybersecurity, and testability; collaborate with QA, Systems Engineering, and Cybersecurity. Define migration strategies for legacy systems and support refactoring and modernization. Support teams in architectural decisions and resolving cross-team dependencies. Qualifications Senior-level software engineering experience with a strong track record as a software architect. Solid knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices. Proficiency in Java, C++, C#, Python, and Java Script; experience with multiple frameworks. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Intimate knowledge of IEC 62443 and other cybersecurity standards; familiarity with IEC 61850 data model. Experience designing architectures for large-scale, distributed, or embedded systems. Experience integrating embedded systems with backend/cloud platforms and defining APIs and data models. Experience with system evolution, migration strategies, and technical debt management. Experience with CI/CD, Dev Ops practices, and modern toolchains. Understanding of cybersecurity architecture and secure software design. Experience in industrial, embedded, or safety-critical environments is highly desirable. Strong oral and written communication; ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs; leadership and business acumen.
