Job description
- We provide technical engineering support across our projects and support contracts.
- We support managed service customers as part of a hybrid role.
- We undertake project work alongside day-to-day support responsibilities.
- We operate an on-call standby rota to support our 24x7 customers.
- We evaluate our supported estate for End of Life and End of Service notifications.
- We monitor and communicate technical bulletins from vendors, especially those relating to security.
- We support out-of-hours customer BAU activities, including PPM and Black Building tests.
- We configure and monitor Halo Service Desk.
- We proactively review and update networking credentials for our support base.

Requirements
- We require demonstrable experience in technical design, configuration and fault finding.
- We require experience of enterprise networking deployment across routing, switching, wireless and security hardware platforms.
- We require a good working understanding of network server builds to deliver DHCP, DNS and AD services across both physical and virtual machines.
- We require an appreciation of the Azure global cloud computing platform.
- We require experience with VRF, VLAN and IP configuration.
- We require PRTG configuration and monitoring experience.
- We require experience creating and modifying firewall policies, access lists and rule sets.
- We require the ability to convert high-level network designs into low-level network designs.
- We require experience with vendor licensing registration and generation.
- We require familiarity with Cisco networking products including Nexus, Catalyst, Meraki, DNA and Prime.
- We require at least CCNP Routing & Switching accreditation, or an equivalent enterprise vendor accreditation.
- We require clear and concise report writing skills.
- We would prefer experience with third-party IP applications and concepts such as BMS, lighting controls and CCTV.
- We would prefer Cisco Software Defined Networking experience, including DNA configuration and deployment.
About the company
We are recruiting for an experienced Focal Network Engineer to join our team in London on a full-time, permanent basis. This hybrid role supports both managed service customers and project delivery, with a salary of £48,000 to £55,000. You will join us in providing technical engineering duties across a broad enterprise networking environment, working with modern Cisco technologies and supporting customers around the clock.
