Job description
- Deliver IMACD services, including installations, moves, upgrades, refreshes, and decommissions of IT infrastructure
- Rack, stack, and decommission servers, network hardware, and associated equipment within data centre environments
- Install, manage, label, trace, and recover structured cabling (copper and fibre) in line with client standards
- Provide first-line hardware and infrastructure support, including component swaps, diagnostics, and assisted fault resolution
- Support incident and change management processes by following approved procedures and escalation paths
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, work orders, and ticket updates within client and ONNEC systems
- Carry out technology space inspections and ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained
- Escort and supervise third-party vendors and client teams working within secure technology areas
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, quality, and client-specific operational requirements
- Participate in shift handovers, 24x7 rota coverage, and out-of-hours or weekend activities as required

This is a hands-on Data Centre Support Engineer role within a critical 24x7x366 environment, reporting to the Data Centre Supervisor and working closely with client teams to deliver service excellence and SLA compliance.
Requirements
- Experience working in a data centre environment (IMACD / hardware deployment)
- Knowledge of structured cabling (copper and fibre) and data centre standards
- Experience with ticketing and asset management systems
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to shift work, including nights and weekends
- Competent in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar IT certifications
- Experience within a banking or enterprise IT environment
- Previous data centre or structured cabling certifications (e.g. BICSI)
