Job description
We invite you to join the Global Information Security (GIS) team at Bank of America as an Application Engineer. The Application Engineer is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications used across the organization. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure applications are stable, secure, high-performing, and aligned with business requirements. The Application Engineer participates in solution design, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for critical systems.

Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise applications to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.

Monitor application health, logs, interfaces, and integrations to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Manage user access, roles, permissions, and data configurations.

Support upgrades, patches, and release deployments.

Ability to comprehend customer requests and provide the correct solution.
Requirements
Experience working in a bank or highly regulated financial environment

Strong comfort with enterprise approval processes, access controls, and change management

Ability to operate in environments with long SLAs and slow-moving dependencies

Experience doing administrative, documentation-heavy work tied to application onboarding

Hands-on experience with:
Application troubleshooting
Access and configuration issues
Coordinating with multiple internal partners

Ability to guide and troubleshoot network-related issues (even if not the network owner)

Comfort interfacing with multiple parts of the bank to get integrations completed Prior experience with SafeBreach or Mandiant (not required)
Light-to-moderate scripting experience to integrate with other bank systems
Previous experience onboarding a new vendor product in an enterprise
Familiarity with cybersecurity or penetration testing tools
Exposure to MITRE ATT&CK-based tools or frameworks
