Job description

job summary: Domain-specific experience in insurance policy administration software ecosystems a plus - designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that support annuities and term life insurance operations such as policy administration, underwriting and claims processing

High level of engagement at the team and group levels, desire to learn and impact outside your primary tasking

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science & Analytics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering role(s)
  • Expertise in working with relational databases (SQL, Postgres, Oracle)
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience using SQL to retrieve and manipulate data
  • Event Drive Architecture
  • Strong hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, including the design and implementation of asynchronous, decoupled systems
  • Experience with event and messaging frameworks, including AWS SQS, Apache Kafka, and ActiveMQ
  • Experience designing and implementing event producers and consumers, including message routing, retries, error handling, durability, and idempotent processing
  • Experience leveraging event-driven workflows to automate data ingestion, transformation, and system integrations

qualifications: Experience with AWS cloud technology (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Event Bridge, SQS)

Experience with ETL tooling, preferably Informatica

Experience with infrastructure as code technologies, specifically Terraform and Cloud Formation

Working knowledge of microservices and RESTful APIs

Strong Proficiency in Python, with familiarity in other back-end languages (Node.js, Java)
