Klaus Bürg is the Managing Director & Vice President at Palo Alto Networks EMEA (DACH+CEE) – a market leading provider in the cybersecurity space. He oversees all go-to-market functions, strategic direction, channel expansion and is passionate about driving adoption of Zero Trust 2.0 as a mental model to secure businesses and their IP.Klaus has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. He has significant expertise in managing international Enterprise type companies, developing go-to-market strategies with a strong affinity creating customer value by using cutting edge technologies. Klaus worked in mature markets as well as in emerging markets. He has deep expertise in driving customer transformations across industries and specifically in Financial Services, Manufacturing/Auto, Retail and in Professional Services environments.Before Palo Alto Networks, Klaus was the Managing Director & General Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) DACH (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) – the global provider of public cloud infrastructure and services. While he helped customers and partners co-innovate using AWS as a technology foundation, Klaus led the AWS DACH organization through hyper growth (above 50% growth YoY), building a solid organizational foundation for continued growth in the years to come.Prior to joining AWS, Klaus was Executive Vice President at audius AG where he oversaw Advisory (consulting) and Business Applications. Before that he worked 11 years at Microsoft in various management functions – i. e. leading the Dynamics business (CRM) for EMEA, COO for the Western Europe Enterprise Services business (12 countries) and lastly being the COO at Microsoft Central Eastern Europe headquarters (33 countries), running the Enterprise business across the whole Microsoft portfolio.Klaus is on the Board of Directors in the American Chamber of Commerce (Germany) and a member of the renowned “Atlantik Brücke” to help drive transatlantic cooperation between Europe, USA and Canada.Klaus graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Esslingen (near Stuttgart, Germany). He also holds a Master of Science in computer science from the same university.
