World Congress 2024

It's not only about the footprint

July 19, 2024 13:05 – 13:15 · 10 min Airstream (120)

What this session covers

We are surely all aware of the carbon footprint - even that of the IT. With Green Coding, we try to reduce the impact of our software on the climate as much as possible. And that’s great!

But is the effort really worth the few kilos of carbon saved? Can we even reduce the footprint enough to make a significant difference?

Why don’t we think differently? Let’s talk about the handprint instead!

It’s about what other options we developers have to make a difference, other than just spending hours tweaking our code. There’s more to it than you might think!
