The Digital Wellness Seminar: How NOT to Get Manipulated through Online Content

Humans are emotional beings which is a strength that has kept our communities together through thick and thin. However, this strength can also be manipulated into a danger, and that includes through online content.

We have seen over recent years how carefully crafted content can steer the perspectives and attitudes of nations, creating division or unity depending on the agenda. Emotions are key to this steering, and in this session I demonstrate how content can target our feelings to warp our perspectives and decisions. I provide tools for spotting and addressing bias online, offline, and inside your mind, and provide terminology that supports effective communication around the topic.
