World Congress 2026 Europe

Hands-On Strategies for Cost-Effective Performance

July 10, 2026 12:15 – 14:15 · 120 min Room M5 (18 Seats)

What this session covers

How do you know if your workload runs effectively in the cloud? Should you optimize for the best performance you can get? maybe go with the cheapest option? or perhaps relay on automated tools and services to tell you how to rightsize? In this hands-on workshop, we’ll take the scientific approach to price-performance analysis. We’ll analyze different common workloads, and see that each has it’s own primary bottleneck. We’ll run breaking load tests, and calculate the cost per request/query/job on different compute infrastructure options. You’ll leave this workshop with the confidence to optimize your workload’s cost while maintaining the performance your customers expect.
