Job description

As an Android Developer, you’ll collaborate with talented engineers, designers and architects to build high quality mobile applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing and contributing to mobile application architecture
Developing new features using Kotlin (Java experience beneficial)
Collaborating with backend teams and integrating APIs
Working closely with designers to deliver intuitive, beautiful interfaces
Ensuring performance, scalability, and security across devices
Conducting testing, debugging and maintaining documentation
Keeping up with Android trends, tools and best practices
Participating in code reviews and contributing to technical decisions

Requirements

Android Developer (Consultant / Senior Consultant)

Manchester or Belfast

1-3 years’ experience

Hybrid (a few days in the office)

Up to £45,000 DOE

SC required - min 5 years of residence in the UK mandatory

Knowledge of Jetpack libraries: Room, LiveData, ViewModel, WorkManager, Navigation, Compose
Familiarity with Material Design and responsive UI principles
Experience integrating third party APIs and working with REST/JSON/XML
Understanding of the full Android app lifecycle and Google Play deployment
Proficiency with Git, testing frameworks, and debugging tools
Experience with architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture)
Ability to optimize app performance and manage threading
Understanding of Android security best practices
Strong communication skills and stakeholder collaboration
Mentoring or technical leadership experience (for Senior level)
