Job description

As an Android Developer, you’ll collaborate with talented engineers, designers and architects to build high quality mobile applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and contributing to mobile application architecture
  • Developing new features using Kotlin (Java experience beneficial)
  • Collaborating with backend teams and integrating APIs
  • Working closely with designers to deliver intuitive, beautiful interfaces
  • Ensuring performance, scalability, and security across devices
  • Conducting testing, debugging and maintaining documentation
  • Keeping up with Android trends, tools and best practices
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to technical decisions

Requirements

Android Developer (Consultant / Senior Consultant)

Manchester or Belfast 1-3 years’ experience Hybrid (a few days in the office) Up to £45,000 DOE SC required - min 5 years of residence in the UK mandatory

  • Knowledge of Jetpack libraries: Room, LiveData, ViewModel, WorkManager, Navigation, Compose
  • Familiarity with Material Design and responsive UI principles
  • Experience integrating third party APIs and working with REST/JSON/XML
  • Understanding of the full Android app lifecycle and Google Play deployment
  • Proficiency with Git, testing frameworks, and debugging tools
  • Experience with architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture)
  • Ability to optimize app performance and manage threading
  • Understanding of Android security best practices
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder collaboration
  • Mentoring or technical leadership experience (for Senior level)

Benefits & conditions

Depending on experience: the max budget for:

  • Candidates from Belfast - £40,300 + £600 in flex + 5% OTB
  • Candidates from Manchester - £45,050 + £600 in flex + 5% OTB
