Job description

This position is responsible for Data Center Engineering Facility Operations. The role involves risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting. The specialist will work to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency., * Responsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work aligns with established practices.

  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Manage services for chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for all facilities-related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) issues.
  • Perform and oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment using detailed technical procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures during work performance.
  • Manage and respond to the ticketing queue based on priority and assessed risk.
  • Perform routine equipment and site monitoring using BMS, EPMS, and HMI systems.
  • Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
  • Manage asset and inventory.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or a Technical Degree from a military or trade school with relevant experience is required.

Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in critical environments or electrical engineer/mechanical Engineer background.

Skills: Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment are necessary., * Electrical and/or HVAC trade certifications or 2+ years of experience in a data center or mission-critical facility.

  • Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low-voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
