Job description

Lead cybersecurity support efforts for the Afloat community in alignment with DoD regulations.

Ensure compliance with certification requirements for IAM Level III or equivalent.

Monitor, research, and respond to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs).

Assess and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks associated with Windows and Linux operating systems and related components.

Manage vulnerability incident reporting and ensure timely resolution.

Support the DoD Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for systems and applications.

Review and provide feedback on DoD cybersecurity documents, orders, and instructions.

Interpret and apply DoD policies and regulations (e.g., 8500, 5200) to operational environments.

Utilize cybersecurity tools such as ESS, VRAM, eMASS, DADMS, and ACAS for monitoring and compliance.

Requirements

Cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks and regulatory standards

Tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM platforms, firewalls, and encryption technologies

Classified systems or Special Access Programs (SAPs)

Documentation processes for system authorization such as ATOs (Authorization To Operate)

Research, analysis, installation, and test software updates and security patches

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

DoD 8750.01-M Compliance Required

IAM Level III Required (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent management focused certification)

Bachelor’s degree in STEM field preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be expected to lift up to 25 lbs

Frequent use of keyboard and typing

Frequent sitting and standing, The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements., Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
