Director - Solutions Architect - Direct Hire/FTE - Hybrid (Local candidates) - Dublin, OH - W2 only

We are seeking a Director of Solutions Architecture to lead the day-to-day execution of our US engineering organization. This role is responsible for driving delivery, ensuring platform reliability, and enforcing architectural excellence across all systems.

You will act as the operational bridge between engineering leadership and development teams (both US and offshore)-turning strategy into measurable results.

This position is hybrid in Dublin, OH. Only candidates that can work in the office in Dublin, OH 2-3 days per week will be considered., Engineering Leadership

• Lead and manage the US engineering team (hiring, performance, development)
• Build a culture of accountability, delivery, and technical excellence
• Mentor engineers, architects, and team leads

Architecture & Technical Oversight

• Define and enforce architecture standards (scalability, security, reliability)
• Lead design reviews and serve as technical escalation point
• Ensure high-quality system design across all platforms

Platform Reliability

• Own uptime, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
• Manage technical debt and scalability risks

Delivery & Execution

• Drive Agile delivery and sprint execution
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into engineering solutions
• Ensure consistent, predictable delivery against roadmap

Global Team Collaboration

• Oversee integration of offshore development teams
• Establish strong communication, documentation, and delivery standards

Budget & Vendor Management

• Support technology budgeting and forecasting
• Manage vendors, contractors, and external partners

Success Metrics

• 99.9% platform uptime
• Consistent on-time delivery and sprint velocity
• Strong architecture quality and reduced technical debt
• Seamless US + offshore team collaboration

Do you have experience in Technology management?, * 15+ years in software engineering / architecture

• 5+ years in Director-level or senior leadership role
• Strong experience designing scalable, enterprise systems
• Proven success leading Agile engineering teams
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders
• Hands-on background in development (able to guide code/design decisions)
• Experience with AI/GenAI tools in engineering workflows

Preferred

• Experience in telecom, fintech, or payments
• Background managing distributed/offshore teams
• Experience with SaaS platforms (mobile/web)
• Strong focus on SLA, uptime, and reliability engineering, * Execution-focused leader who drives results, not just strategy
• Strong communicator who can bridge technical and business teams
• Passionate about engineering excellence and continuous improvement
• Comfortable owning delivery, uptime, and team performance, * Software Engineering/Architecture: 10 years (Preferred)
• Director Level: 5 years (Preferred)
• Agile team leadership: 5 years (Preferred)
