Job description

The Senior Automation Implementation Engineer is responsible for the integration, deployment, commissioning, and optimization of automated fulfilment solutions in new Distribution Centers. This role involves hands-on implementation, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and technical problem solving to ensure automation projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client specifications., 1 Lead the installation, configuration, testing, validation, and commissioning of automated fulfillment systems, including AS/RS, Goods-to-Person (GTP), AMRs, Cobots, conveyors, and sortation systems. 2 Collaborate closely with the Automation Implementation Manager, Solutions Design, and external vendors to interpret designs and ensure successful automation implementation. 3 Conduct system validation and testing to ensure automation solutions meet performance criteria, safety standards, and operational requirements. 4 Provide technical expertise during the integration of automation systems with warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), and warehouse execution systems (WES). 5 Participate in cross-functional project meetings, offering technical input to align automation systems with project timelines and deliverables. 6 Identify and troubleshoot system issues during implementation and commissioning, working with internal teams and vendors to implement corrective actions. 7 Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing system optimizations to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability. 8 Document system configurations, changes, and test results to ensure compliance with project documentation standards and facilitate future system maintenance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics and distribution, with at least 5 years working directly with automation systems (e.g., AS/RS, GTP, AMRs, Cobots). Proven experience in the deployment and commissioning of automated fulfillment solutions. Desireable - Experience in third party logistics, omnichannel fulfilment, with focus on ecommerce fulfilment solutions

Specialist Knowledge & Skills In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including hardware and software integration. Experience with WMS, WCS, WES, PLCs, and SCADA systems. Strong technical problem-solving skills.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong documentation and reporting skills.
