Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to work on a hybrid basis in Hartford, CT, and remotely for the right candidate. The reason this position is open is because the team needs some extra hands on deck with helping the development teams. The Software engineer will be solutioning and translating different needs from the business to technical outcomes. They are going to be very intertwined with both the business and technical side from a high level, while also being able to step in and be hands on when needed. They will spend half their time being hands on with the team while the other 50% will be spend high level solutioning. The Software Engineer will be interacting with both onshore and offshore developers and ensure the teams are on track with meeting deadlines, project needs and goals. The ideal candidate should come from a financial/investment company and have experience with actuarial modeling as well.

7+ years as a software engineer

-Previous experience overseeing a team and helping with strategy, ensuring developers are on track

-Experience with Java, C++ and Python

-Experience with Azure cloud

-Previous experience working at a financial/investment company and have experience with actuarial modeling
