Job description

In this role, you will lead and develop large, high-performing organizations responsible for the end-to-end planning, design, construction, implementation, and optimization of wireless and wireline network infrastructure. You will own execution across RAN, OSP, fiber, and project management functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and operational excellence. As a senior leader, you will partner closely with product, P&L, sales, and marketing teams to maximize the value of deployed fiber and wireless assets while advancing AT&T’s converged, AI-driven network vision.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop large, multi-layered engineering and construction organizations, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Direct the planning, design, construction, and optimization of wireless access infrastructure supporting 5G, WiFi, satellite, and fiber connectivity.
  • Oversee full lifecycle execution of network construction and engineering projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery aligned to business priorities.
  • Drive a customer-first culture using deep analytics and AI-led insights to improve network performance and customer experience.
  • Manage capital budgets, vendor negotiations, and resource allocation to support efficient, scalable network deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, environmental, and construction standards through strong governance and field oversight.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading wireless and wireline network engineering and construction organizations.
  • Strong expertise in RAN planning, design, optimization, and deployment for large-scale mobility networks.
  • Proven ability to execute complex, multi-year capital programs with accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • Experience managing vendor, supplier, and partner relationships in large-scale network environments.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, finance, sales, and operations teams.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 10+ years of related experience in network engineering, construction, or telecommunications leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading large organizations, including direct supervision of supervisors and senior staff.
  • Proven ability to design and execute strategies aligned with organizational goals and network priorities.
  • Experience influencing hiring, promotion, performance management, and compensation decisions.
  • Background working in highly scaled or regulated environments preferred.

Our AVP- Network Access Construction & Engineering earns between $231,000 - $347,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits, long-term incentives, and deferred compensation. Individual starting salary may vary based on geography, experience, expertise, and education.
