MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Windows Server Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful.

  • Contribute to completion of major engineering programs and projects.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of highly complex Windows/Linux engineering problems.
  • Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
  • Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Perform highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Perform continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
  • Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve current processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task lead.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows support?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The XXXXXXXXXXl must have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree not required. Additional experience may substitute
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience OR in lieu of Bachelor’s, an additional four (4) years of related experience
  • Technical skills:

  • Demonstrated Operations experience with Windows OS including administration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience utilizing security tools (Qualys) to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with VMware virtual environment.
  • Experience with CLOUD platforms Azure and OCI.
  • Understanding of proactive monitoring concepts.
  • Experience with patching and maintaining server builds.
  • Ability to monitor and diagnose Windows server issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following infrastructure principles:
  • Scalability and Capacity planning
  • Backup/Recovery
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues, restore the environment to an operational state with minimal downtime, perform root cause analysis and provide a forward leaning mitigation strategy
  • Participate in On-Call support rotation.
  • Linux experience and skills desired
