Job description

As an employee at X-Bow, you will serve a critical role in helping us execute advanced technology projects and programs for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), other government agencies, commercial customers and internal R&D initiatives. We are seeking a talented and motivated Frontend JavaScript Software Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our development team. You’ll be responsible for building responsive, scalable, and maintainable web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks. You should have a solid foundation in frontend development principles, care deeply about user experience, and be comfortable collaborating with designers, backend engineers, and product stakeholders. As a key member of a small, dynamic, and highly skilled team, you will be expected to actively collaborate with others as well as work independently to accomplish assignments and responsibilities successfully., * Develop and maintain user-facing features with clean, well-documented JavaScript (ES6+)

  • Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality code
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless functionality
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
  • Debug and resolve performance and usability issues
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to write testable code and verify application behavior
  • Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and propose their adoption where appropriate

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in frontend development
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ syntax and best practices
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design
  • Proficiency in one or more frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • Experience with version control systems, especially Git
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling (e.g., fetch, axios)
  • Familiarity with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar.
  • Ability to write unit and integration tests using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress
  • Comfortable working in agile teams using tools like Jira, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Must be a US Persons as defined by 120.62 of the ITAR
