Job description
Project Delivery & Execution
- Lead cross-functional, small-to-medium scale technical projects and/or workstreams within broader programs
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, and budgets
- Ensure alignment with quality, compliance, validation, and regulatory requirements
- Track execution progress and escalate risks/issues appropriately
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with R&D business and IT stakeholders to ensure clear alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Provide clear and consistent project updates to stakeholders
- Support decision-making by identifying risks, trade-offs, and mitigation options
Delivery & Methodology
- Apply PMP-aligned practices across planning, execution, and monitoring
- Leverage Agile and Waterfall methodologies, tailoring approach based on project needs
- Contribute to adoption of standard tools, templates, and governance practices
AI-Enabled Delivery
- Utilize AI tools and automation (where available) to enhance project tracking, reporting, and risk identification
- Support adoption of data-driven insights to improve delivery predictability
Financial & Vendor Coordination
- Support management of project budgets and forecasts
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure delivery quality and timelines
Team Contribution
- Collaborate within the PM and delivery community to share best practices and improve delivery approaches
- Provide informal guidance to junior team members where needed
Requirements
- Working knowledge of R&D systems and IT delivery
- Understanding of compliance and validation requirements
Leadership & Communication
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work across teams and manage competing priorities

Ability to translate business needs into project plans and deliverables, * Bachelor’s Degree and Eight Years’ Experience OR Masters’ Degree and Six Years’ Experience, * PMP certification
- Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) & Waterfall methodologies
- 6+ years relevant project management experience
- 3+ years of technical project management experience in a cross-functional environment
- Experience supporting projects in regulated (GxP) environments preferred

The salary range for this position is: Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00.
Raleigh: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00.
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
