Expert Functional Analyst & Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Expert Functional Analyst & Solution Architect to join a large-scale Agile software development environment delivering business-critical enterprise applications.

In this hybrid role, you will combine functional analysis, solution architecture, and technical leadership. Acting as the link between business and IT, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable software solutions while guiding development teams, shaping application architecture, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Working within multiple Scrum teams, you will contribute to the evolution of modern distributed applications in a complex, high-availability environment., Functional Analysis

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications.
• Define solution approaches in collaboration with technical teams.
• Support Product Owners with backlog refinement and prioritisation.
• Write and refine user stories.
• Coordinate functional testing and user acceptance testing.
• Analyse incidents and prioritise corrective actions.
• Maintain comprehensive functional documentation.
• Act as the primary liaison between business, IT, and operational stakeholders.

Solution Architecture

• Design scalable and maintainable application architectures.
• Guide technical teams in implementing distributed software solutions.
• Ensure architectural consistency across projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in application quality and performance.
• Support developers with architectural decisions and best practices.

• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Functional Analyst.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Agile software development.
• Extensive experience translating business requirements into prioritised backlogs.
• Proven experience writing user stories and facilitating Agile workshops.
• Strong background in functional architecture.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
