Data & Impact Manager

We are looking for a Data & Impact Manager (part time, 25 hours per week, 2-year fixed term contract) who will be responsible for the effective management, integrity, and use of Mesothelioma UK’s data systems, with a particular focus on:

• Supporting fundraising insight, supporter engagement and income-generation activity through accurate CRM data, segmentation and impactful reporting
• Management of the organisation’s CRM system, Donorfy
• Ensuring high-quality, compliant data to support service delivery, reporting, and impact measurement
• Providing data oversight for the Mesothelioma Networks project, including reporting, monitoring, and assurance against contractual and grant requirements

The role plays a critical part in enabling Mesothelioma UK to demonstrate impact, meet governance obligations, and support strategic decision-making.

Duties

CRM Management and Development

• Act as the system owner for Mesothelioma UK’s CRM, including configuration, maintenance, and user management
• Ensure the CRM supports operational needs across services, networks, fundraising, and reporting
• Work with fundraising colleagues to ensure supporter, donor, campaign and income data is captured consistently and can be used to inform engagement, stewardship and fundraising planning
• Develop and maintain data structures, fields, workflows, and permissions to ensure consistency and usability
• Provide first-line support to staff using the CRM, including troubleshooting and user guidance
• Liaise with external CRM suppliers or developers as required

Reporting, Insight, and Impact

Produce compelling regular and ad-hoc reports to support:

• Fundraising planning, supporter engagement, donor stewardship and campaign performance
• Service delivery monitoring
• Trustee reporting
• Funders and external stakeholders
• Work with colleagues to translate data into meaningful insights
• Support annual reporting, impact evidence and evaluation activity
• Respond to data requests in a timely and accurate manner

Data Quality, Governance, and Compliance

• Establish and maintain data quality standards, including data entry protocols and validation processes
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and data protection legislation, working with senior staff to manage risk
• Develop and maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries and process guides
• Monitor data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, addressing issues proactively
• Support organisational policies relating to data retention, access, and information security

Mesothelioma Networks Project - Data Oversight

• Maintain oversight of all data collected through the Mesothelioma Networks programme, including activity, outcomes, and reporting returns
• Ensure network reporting aligns with:
• Network Development Contracts
• Standard Grant Conditions
• 6-month, annual, and end-of-grant reporting templates
• Track reporting submissions, identify gaps or risks, and escalate issues as appropriate
• Produce summary dashboards and reports for internal monitoring, trustees, and funders
• Support assurance that network delivery data is accurate, complete, and audit-ready

Cross-Organisational Support

Work collaboratively with clinical, support, fundraising and operational teams to ensure data supports their work

• Provide training and guidance to staff on data systems and good data practice
• Contribute to service development and improvement through data-led insight
• Support new projects or services with appropriate data capture and reporting frameworks

• Ability to understand the meaning and value of the available data and to present it in visually compelling ways
• Experience managing a CRM or similar database system
• Strong understanding of data management, data quality, and reporting
• Experience producing reports and dashboards for operational or governance purposes
• Good knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection principles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical colleagues
• Ability to support with CRM reporting, donor segmentation and data quality and campaign insight

Desirable

• Experience working in the charity, health, or public sector
• Experience supporting or managing grant-funded programmes
• Familiarity with NHS environments or multi-organisation networks
• Experience of impact measurement or service evaluation
• Experience configuring CRM systems (e.g. workflows, automations, reporting tools)
