Job description

We are seeking an entry-level IT technician who has the passion and drive to help us reach the next level by providing technical support to all of our Happy People.

Cherry Optical Lab is seeking a motivated and eager to learn Part-Time IT Technician to support daily IT operations. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to gain hands-on experience with hardware support, inventory management, and help desk services in a compliance-driven environment.

What you’ll do

  • Provide first-level technical support to team members through the ticketing system, email, and in-person assistance.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, network, and login issues, including Windows, Microsoft 365, printers, and peripherals.
  • Prepare, configure, and deploy equipment for new team members, including laptops, desktops, monitors, and mobile devices.
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory records and follow established standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including equipment provisioning, setup, and collection.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, hardware, and networking concepts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand, bend, kneel, squat, and twist.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more on a regular basis.

How to Stand Out:

  • Experience with operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Azure Fundamentals, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or asset tracking.
  • Exposure to Active Directory, Entra ID, or device management tools such as Intune.
  • Experience working in regulated environments, such as HIPAA or HITRUST.

Work Location: Onsite; Green Bay, WI

Days & Hours: 20-30 hours per week, primarily during afternoon and evening hours

Starting wage is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
