Job description

We are a marketing agency in Alexandria, VA looking for a WordPress developer to join our growing team. Our client list consists of mostly B2B companies, associations, and non-profits, some of which have been our clients for our entire 17-year history.

We are in need of a self-motivated, detail-oriented WordPress developer to work on new client websites and also to pick up work on existing sites that may have been developed by others. Graphic design expertise is not needed, but a good logical approach to UI/UX is a must. Above all, we value a can-do attitude, that enjoys solving client challenges.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in prominent themes/builders like divi or elementor, but also be able to work in the block builder and create custom blocks to accommodate a range of client requests. Our agency prides itself on long-term partnerships with clients, so it is rare that we work on a website and then never touch it again. Clients call on us for continuous improvement, new enhancements, long-term strategy, etc.

The position would be completely remote but must be located in the United States and the ideal candidate must have stable internet connection and be flexible enough to video conference during East Coast business hours. The position is available as a 1099 position or an employee.

No companies please.

Applicants MUST submit at least 5 websites you are directly responsible for the development of.

Examples of duties include:

  • Developing full WordPress websites from scratch, using design mockups provided by our team
  • Migrating and taking websites “live” with full confidence in link checking, testing unsecured content, dns updates, redirects, etc.
  • Interfacing with technology partners for SSO work or other integrations
  • Troubleshooting existing sites, often not developed by us, but that may need customizations, updates, security fixes, etc.
  • Occasional “other” programming such as helping out with html emails and tweaks to styling on other platforms

Familiarity with any of the following is greatly preferred:

  • WordPress (absolute must)
  • Elementor (must)
  • Divi
  • A variety of hosting environments
  • Prominent and popular WordPress plugins
  • Security certificates
  • Drupal
  • HubSpot
  • iMIS
  • YourMembership
  • MailChimp
  • Canva
  • Google AdWords, GTM and complex ad attribution and tracking
  • Google Analytics (GA4)

Requirements

  • WordPress: 5 years (Preferred)

Benefits & conditions
