Job description

Responsible for all aspects of Regulatory Compliance for the assigned region, including, but not limited to, the following compliance areas: Serves as a corporate liaison with gaming regulators, IRS, Boyd property and corporate departments on issues related to compliance; Directs property compliance departments and staff; Supports Corporate Compliance as directed; Assists the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer in overseeing the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and FinCEN regulations and the company’s BSA Title 31 anti-money laundering policy; Provides regional direction of the company’s gaming compliance and reporting plan; Directs compliance with gaming laws and regulations; Oversees internal controls and IT system submissions, responses to regulatory findings and non-compliance issues, the self-exclusion / DAP program and audit processes, and performance of regulatory procedures.

  1. Serves as a corporate liaison with gaming regulators, IRS, and corporate and property personnel on issues related to compliance. Develops and maintains professional working relationship with gaming regulators, IRS, and corporate and property personnel. Ensures strong communication between regulators and property and corporate management on all compliance matters.

  2. Directly oversees property compliance departments and staff for the assigned region. Directs, supervises, mentors and trains the property compliance staff in the performance of their compliance duties.

  3. Supports corporate compliance as directed.

  4. Assists in overseeing administration of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and FinCEN regulations and the Company’s BSA Title 31 anti-money laundering policy, to ensure all properties are in compliance with regulations pertaining to money laundering. This includes being knowledgeable and keeping current on all aspects of BSA Title 31 AML regulations and trends. Directs the daily Title 31 audits and filing of all CTRs and SARs, patron due diligence (know your customer) program, and the annual BSA Title 31 AML risk assessments for assigned region.

  5. Assists in overseeing the Company’s Gaming Compliance and Reporting Plan for the assigned region, to prevent any Company involvement that would pose a threat to the reputation and integrity of the gaming industry.

  6. Oversees compliance with gaming laws and regulations applicable to the business operations of the company in assigned jurisdictions to ensure that property operations and procedures are in compliance.

  7. Oversees internal control system and IT system submissions. Assists property compliance with the preparation, maintenance and submission of internal control system amendments. Oversees the preparation of IT system installation and upgrade submissions, including related IC submissions.

  8. Oversees and reviews responses to regulatory findings and non-compliance issues for the assigned region. Responsible for ensuring timely and complete preparation, and coordination of responses, to findings by regulators, internal audit, outside auditors and IRS audits. Responsible for investigation and self-reporting non-compliance issues. Assists in implementing corrective actions and updating related Internal controls, if necessary.

  9. Assists in overseeing the self-exclusion/DAP program and audit processes to ensure all excluded patrons have been entered into the applicable gaming systems.

  10. Oversees performance of regulatory compliance procedures for the assigned region. Responsible for the performance of various regulatory compliance procedures, audits, and reviews (e.g., sensitive key audits and system user access testing). Assists in filing jurisdictional gaming regulatory and/or corporate required reports.

  11. Researches and coordinates specific assigned projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  2. Ten years of gaming or banking experience.

  3. Strong knowledge of BSA Title 31 AML regulations, CAMS certification preferred.

  4. Strong knowledge of gaming operations, regulations, internal controls and general information systems.

  5. Strong knowledge in the use of gaming and AML-related systems.

  6. Must be detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to research and organize information.

  7. Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.

  8. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to manage time and workload effectively.

  9. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

  10. Ability to work irregular hours.

  11. Must be available to work onsite in Las Vegas, NV

  12. Must be willing to travel as needed
