Application Support Engineer

We are seeking to employ, on a full-time W-2 basis, an Application Support Engineer to support industrial application systems for a major oil and gas client in Pasadena, TX.

This role supports PCN / OT application systems, meaning server based applications and infrastructure used in Process Control Network and Operational Technology environments. The position is responsible for deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and life-cycling application systems used in refinery operations.

The selected candidate will support on-premise and Azure applications, Microsoft Windows servers, cybersecurity standards adherence, information and risk compliance, asset inventory and monitoring, software license management, and operating system / software patch management., * Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and lifecycle PCN / OT application systems.

• Support server-based on-premise and Azure applications in OT and business network environments.
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft Windows servers.
• Provide design, testing, implementation, and support for application system platform deployment or lifecycle projects.
• Participate in internally driven application platform projects and customer-facing technical projects.
• Support cybersecurity standards adherence, information management requirements, and risk compliance activities.
• Maintain asset inventory, monitoring information, application records, and system documentation.
• Support software license management.
• Support operating system and software patch management.

Do you have experience in Windows Server administration?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, Candidates must be able to work on-site in Pasadena, TX in a refinery environment. A TWIC card is required to enter the facility.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting server based applications, Windows Server environments, infrastructure systems, and application lifecycle projects. Experience in OT, refinery, manufacturing, industrial, or other high security network environments is preferred., * Experience supporting and troubleshooting server-based on-premise and Azure applications in OT and business network environments.

• Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting Microsoft Windows servers.
• Experience supporting application system platform deployments, upgrades, testing, implementation, or lifecycle projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to document systems infrastructure clearly and accurately.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and platforms in support of project timelines.
• Ability to work on-site in Pasadena, TX.

Preferred experience:

• Understanding of OT environments and high-security concepts, including the Purdue model, air-gapped networks, and zero trust.
• Experience with Azure IaaS and SaaS.
• Experience developing or maintaining PowerShell scripts for system maintenance or monitoring.
• Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.Experience with VxRail.Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, or other distributions.
• Experience maintaining infrastructure systems with responsibility for cybersecurity standards adherence, information management, or risk compliance.
• Experience using tools such as Tenable Nessus, Tanium, or equivalent platforms.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies or SAFe framework.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps.Microsoft certification in Windows Server, Azure, or another related technology.
