Job description

Works with customers over the phone and in person to solve complex applications and/or machine capability problems. Programs, sets up and operates CNC lathes, vertical mills, horizontal mills, automation, and rotary products. Conducts programmer and operator training. Performs miscellaneous duties in preparation for trade shows or machine demonstrations. Assist with special projects., * Is an expert on Haas products and knows options and features of Lathes, Mills, Rotaries, Automation, and Haas Tooling.

  • Works with the service department to provide our customers the highest quality customer service possible.
  • Answers applications related phone calls from customers.
  • Prepares for and conducts programmer and operator training in our offices as well as customer facilities.
  • All tasks related to setting up a job on a lathe or mill from conception to an errorless machine demo (designing/building fixtures, selecting the proper tools, etc).
  • Writing advanced 5-axis (mills) and 3-axis plus sub spindle with live tool CNC programs utilizing advanced machine functions such as macros.
  • Diagnosing complex programming errors and software flaws as well as mechanical flaws.
  • Keeps demo room and work areas clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Can read and write advanced G-code for Fanuc controls and has good knowledge of other controls.
  • Has very good communication skills (telephone and interpersonal).
  • Computer literate in M/S Office, Word, and Excel. Must have experience with a minimum of one CAD/CAM System.
  • Ability to create in CAD/CAM Wire-frame, Solid Model, and Program three axis parts (mills) and/or two axis (lathe).
  • Able to travel regularly to customers within Kansas and Missouri. Occasional travel to other states for training and trade shows.
  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
