Job description

The NOC (Network Operations) Technician - Level 1 at Voonami is the primary technical support contact for our customer base. They are responsible for actively responding to phone calls, emails or other forms of communication from our customer base. The main goal is to quickly resolve the issue in question and ensure our customers are satisfied., The NOC Technician’s overall responsibility is to assist customers with their support issues as well as monitoring the critical environment of Voonami and its customers, also, interfacing with other teams to resolve any issues that require escalation.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Monitor the overall health and availability of all systems from the Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Receive inbound support requests via email, phone and chat
  • Diagnose technical problems and resolve them remotely
  • Ensure maximum possible service availability and performance
  • Monitor overall and individual bandwidth traffic
  • Monitor devices within Voonami infrastructure and customer base
  • Provide remote hands to customers and other internal teams
  • Provide remote support for end users
  • Perform and document regular facilities checks
  • Perform upgrades and patches on customers and internal systems
  • Malware and Antivirus administration
  • Installation of new equipment in racks or at customer premise
  • Writing customer and internal documentation

Requirements

A NOC Technician has a unique blend of customer services and technical skills. They must be able to work well in a technical team environment to solve the problem at hand. Candidates for this position must be strong in the following areas:

  • Customer service focused
  • 40+ WPM Typing
  • Basic networking, hardware and data center knowledge
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
  • Basic Linux knowledge
  • Detail oriented, Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. The candidate must be punctual and reliable, able to communicate well with customers and the team in order to provide a solution to the problem at hand.
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure environment
  • Customer service experience via phone, email, and/or chat strongly preferred
  • Good general understanding of IT infrastructure and practices
  • Good organizational skills
  • Basic Linux, Windows and Mac skills
  • Quick to adapt to a fast pace job addressing a wide range of issues
  • Ability to travel and work at multiple data center locations
  • Ability to lift hardware equipment between 30 to 80 lbs.
