Requirements

This opportunity is for engineers who want to understand how software really works - from desktop applications and operating systems to APIs, background services and cross-platform behaviour. You’ll be working across Electron applications, Node.js services and platform-specific challenges, investigating bugs, building features and learning how software behaves beyond the browser.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong programming and computer science fundamentals
  • TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js experience
  • Understanding of APIs, testing and debugging
  • Knowledge of OOP principles and Git
  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in how systems work

Bonus points for:

  • Electron or desktop application experience
  • Cross-platform development (Windows/macOS)
  • Experience with installers, permissions or build tooling

This role would suit a graduate or early-career engineer who enjoys solving problems, digging into technical challenges and understanding what’s happening under the hood. You’ll be mentored by an exceptionally strong engineering team and exposed to problems that most junior developers simply don’t get to work on.

Benefits & conditions

Private healthcare

Up to 7% pension match

£2,000 annual training budget

£500 personal development allowance

Annual hardware budget

If you’re curious, hungry to learn and excited by desktop engineering, we’d love to hear from you.
