Job description

As a JavaScript Developer at Revolution, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering bold, bespoke digital platforms for ambitious clients. You’ll work across a mix of custom web builds, complex integrations, and scalable platform development - helping us grow and mature our digital transformation capability.

While our core delivery stack is PHP, Laravel, Statamic, Vue, and Tailwind, we are actively expanding our JavaScript and cloud capabilities. You’ll join existing projects built with Node, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL, and help us integrate these technologies more deeply into our wider platform ecosystem, where we see opportunity.

This is a hands-on role for a developer who enjoys solving real problems, working across modern stacks, and contributing to architectural decisions - not just shipping tickets., * Design and build robust JavaScript applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React.

  • Contribute to bespoke platform builds and complex integrations, often tailored to specific client workflows.
  • Work alongside PHP/Laravel teams to integrate JavaScript services into existing platforms.
  • Build and consume APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Cloud & Infrastructure Collaboration

  • Work within our AWS-hosted environments, supporting cloud-native application development.
  • Contribute to projects using AWS services such as Lambda, Amplify, and Cognito (where applicable).
  • Collaborate with DevOps and senior engineers to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and production-ready.

Technical Quality & Evolution

  • Write clean, well-structured, and testable code aligned with best practice.
  • Participate in technical discussions around architecture, tooling, and future capability growth.
  • Help shape how modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies are adopted across our platforms.
  • Review code, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with designers, product owners, and other developers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Take ownership of features from concept through to deployment.
  • Balance quality and pace in a fast-moving, high-performance environment.

Requirements

You’re a confident JavaScript developer with experience across modern frameworks and cloud-based platforms. You’re comfortable working across different stacks and enjoy collaborating with others to build well-engineered solutions.

You’ll need to bring:

  • Solid experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, particularly in Node.js environments.
  • Hands-on experience with React in production applications.
  • Experience integrating with APIs and backend services.
  • Familiarity with AWS and cloud-hosted application delivery.
  • A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • AWS Amplify, Lambda, or Cognito
  • PostgreSQL and PostGraphile
  • Working alongside Laravel / PHP teams in hybrid stacks
  • Agency or consultancy experience delivering bespoke client solutions

Most importantly, you’re curious, adaptable, and motivated to grow your skills while helping us expand our technical capabilities.

Benefits & conditions

  • The opportunity to work on bespoke platforms and complex integrations, not off-the-shelf builds.
  • Exposure to modern JavaScript, cloud-native, and PHP/Laravel ecosystems.
  • Support for learning, development, and growing into more senior technical responsibility.
  • A collaborative culture that values quality, ambition, and doing things properly.
  • 24 days holiday (plus your birthday off).
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • Pension and benefits package.
