Scott AFB UPP Software Developer

This position requires the performance of tasks related to research, development, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise-wide software solutions using techniques such as hands-on coding, debugging, contributing to software architecture and design, etc. on behalf of the government customer and Small Business Consulting Company (SBCC). • Collaborate on software development projects supporting operational systems and analytics platforms.
• Write, test, and maintain code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Participate in the design and implementation of databases and APIs.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing software applications.
• Contribute to documentation, reporting, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Work independently and as part of a team to solve technical challenges.
• Learn and apply new technologies and development practices.
• Occasionally provide administrative support related to project documentation and coordination.

This is a part-time flexible Hybrid position designed to accommodate students in good standing with their university. The ideal candidate will be a senior, entering senior year or a master’s degree student pursuing a degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or related field. Seniors pursuing bachelor’s degree will be considered. A professor recommendation is required. Travel to Scott Air Force Base IL is required. This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance. Only U.S. citizens eligible for U.S. Security Clearance should apply., * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Travel required

• Commute to and from Scott AFB, IL as needed.
• Occasional travel to meet with USG clients or attend conferences.

Required education and experience

• Pursuing master’s degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR
• Rising Senior pursuing bachelor’s degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Preferred education and experience

• Knowledge of languages such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript
• Pursing master’s degree: Computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position.
• Pursuing bachelor’s degree (senior or entering enior year): computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
