Job description

  • Designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Working with APIs and microservices to integrate data from multiple sources
  • Implementing CI/CD practices to improve deployment reliability and speed
  • Managing data quality analysis and ensuring pipeline alignment with business requirements
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Supporting the deployment and management of data systems across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Working with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to automate infrastructure
  • Contributing to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools like Terraform
  • Troubleshooting data system performance and implementing optimisations

Requirements

  • Strong experience with data pipeline development and data infrastructure design
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or .NET/C#)
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of distributed systems and API design
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical workstreams with minimal supervision

Nice-to-have

  • Google Cloud Data Engineer certification
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC environments
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform)
  • Knowledge of BPMN or UML for process modelling
  • Experience with data quality frameworks and governance
  • Exposure to Linux/Windows system administration
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Background in AWS or GCP (in addition to Azure)

Benefits & conditions

  • Type: Contract · Full-time
  • Day Rate: £400-550 per day (depending on experience and seniority)
  • Degree Level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Optional Certifications: Google Cloud Data Engineer
