Job description

As a Development Operations Engineer, you will be tasked with assisting the development and client facing teams in understanding, deploying and maintaining infrastructure related to hosting the TransPerfect SaaS applications primarily in the AMAZON cloud (AWS).

You will be a key member of a close knit team of like-minded engineers working in concert to solve problems, automate the routine and have fun in the process. You will be responsible for diagnosing any configuration issues with these systems in coordination with the development teams. The Development Operations Team is the primary point of contact for the infrastructure needs dealing directly with development and client facing teams who have service requests and technical problems such as issues with their servers, networking, and automated deployments

You will be well rounded in Amazon Web Services solutions, including EC2, S3, Application Load Balancers / Network Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, Elastic Container Service, Cloud Watch, Web Application Firewall, & Lambda).

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage AWS infrastructure via Terraform
  • Define & manage Jenkins Pipelines
  • Mange our CI/CD pipeline using Git, Bitbucket, Docker build, Jenkins, Elastic Container Registry.
  • Configuration management through Ansible playbooks
  • Improve process through automation. Perform a task once, then automate.
  • Embrace the “Infrastructure as Code” model where deployment of resources is repeatable and clearly defined. Our code is our documentation
  • Apache / Nginx configuration and performance tuning
  • Configure and manage Amazon Linux / Red Hat machines in both cloud and data-center environment

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with the Linux Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Scripting experience using Python & Bash
  • Experience building, deploying, & orchestrating containers with Docker
  • Demonstrated expertise with the Linux Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and understanding of DNS and networking concepts
  • Experience with CI/CD and version control using Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket
