Job description

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a federal government client on a long-term engagement. If you’re looking to apply your DevOps expertise in support of mission-critical federal programs - let’s talk!, DSN is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a federal government engineering team supporting the delivery and operation of mission-critical software systems. This role is best suited to a seasoned DevOps professional with 6+ years of experience who can operate with a high degree of autonomy and provide technical leadership within a federal engineering environment. Due to the sensitive nature of the program, specific project and mission details are shared with candidates as they progress through the interview process., * Design, build, and own CI/CD pipeline architecture supporting Angular, Java, and PHP application teams

  • Lead infrastructure as code strategy and standards using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • Architect and maintain containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Partner directly with full stack developers and manual QA testers to define and improve release engineering practices
  • Drive system reliability, performance monitoring, and security posture across environments
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Own compliance efforts related to applicable federal security and configuration management requirements
  • Mentor mid-level and junior DevOps engineers
  • Lead incident response efforts and participate in on-call rotation
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards for pipelines, infrastructure, and operational procedures

Requirements

This position works closely with a cross-functional engineering team, including full stack developers building applications on Angular (front end) and Java and PHP (back end), with AI-assisted development support. The role also partners closely with manual QA testers to ensure release quality and stability. This is a fully remote position; candidates must be able to work core hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time., * 6+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure automation role

  • Proven track record designing and owning CI/CD pipeline architecture (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Advanced experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools
  • Strong hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
  • Deep understanding of version control workflows and branching strategies (Git)
  • Experience architecting solutions across cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments
  • Prior experience supporting federal government or defense-related programs strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, ATO processes)
  • An active or prior security clearance is not required, but is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading junior/mid-level engineers
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to meet client eligibility requirements for a federal engagement
  • Must be available to work core hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Time, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not required.
