Job description
A results-oriented Oracle Utilities Deployment Lead with the planning discipline and execution focus to own a complex multi-release deployment program. You’ve been through Oracle Utilities go-live events and know the difference between a plan that looks good on paper and one that holds up under the pressure of a live cutover weekend. You’re a clear communicator, a strong coordinator, and a calm decision-maker when things don’t go to plan - which they rarely do. You bring the energy and accountability that a Release 2 deployment demands.
The work:
- Own end-to-end deployment planning and execution for Oracle Utilities Release 2, including cutover runbooks, task sequencing, mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and production go-live.
- Develop and maintain Release 2 deployment plan documentation including task lists, dependencies, resource assignments, timing estimates, and go/no-go criteria.
- Coordinate across functional, technical, infrastructure, data conversion, and client operations teams to align and execute the Release 2 deployment schedule.
- Lead mock cutover and dress rehearsal exercises, capturing lessons learned and refining execution plans for production go-live.
- Manage release management processes including environment readiness, code promotion, configuration migration, and deployment validation.
- Serve as central command and communication hub during the live Release 2 deployment event, tracking task completion, escalating blockers, and reporting status to program leadership.
- Support post-deployment hypercare operations including batch monitoring, defect triage, and stabilization activities.
- Document deployment lessons learned and contribute to deployment playbook improvements for future releases.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of Oracle Utilities project delivery experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a deployment or cutover lead role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing deployment runbooks, release plans, and go/no-go decision frameworks for Oracle Utilities or equivalent enterprise system go-lives.
- Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating cross-functional teams including functional, technical, infrastructure, and client operations during live deployment events.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years’ work experience). If Associate’s Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience
Bonus Points If:
- Oracle Utilities C2M, CCS, or CC&B certification.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with multi-release deployment planning on large-scale Oracle Utilities transformations.
- Familiarity with ORT execution and batch sequencing as part of deployment readiness.
- Minimum 1 year of experience leading or co-leading release management activities including environment readiness, code promotion, and configuration migration.
