Job description

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer II specializing in Windows Server environments to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This is an onsite position responsible for managing and supporting multi-site server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows systems administration, virtualization, and data center operations, with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability., Windows Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services. Multi-Site Infrastructure Management: Oversee and support servers across multiple locations, ensuring uptime, performance, and compliance. Virtualization & Cloud Integration: Manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and assist with cloud deployments in Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud. Data Center Operations: Perform rack/stack of hardware, structured cabling, power/cooling management, and environmental monitoring. Performance & Security: Conduct regular system tuning, patching, and security hardening to meet compliance standards. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell (and optionally Bash/Python) to streamline deployments and configuration management. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize tools such as LogicMonitor or similar to monitor system health and resolve escalated issues (Tier II/III support). Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate system diagrams, configuration records, and procedural documentation. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams on IT projects, upgrades, and deployments., As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure workplace, successful completion of a background check and drug screening is a mandatory condition for employment. Requirements

Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a relevant discipline.

5+ years of hands-on experience in Windows Server administration and multi-site infrastructure management. Certifications: CCNA This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status., Certifications: MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Azure Administrator (AZ-104), CompTIA Security+. Exposure to Linux systems administration and cross-platform integration. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipelines. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related Windows services. Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle) and hybrid integration. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls). Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, SolarWinds).

Estimate salary range for this role: $100,000 to $130,000 per year. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location.
