Job description

TRC Talent Solutions seeks a Data & Reporting Engineer to join a growing investment management firm in Atlanta, GA. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to own and modernize the infrastructure behind institutional client reporting while working at the intersection of data engineering, investment operations, and reporting delivery.

This is a highly visible role focused on building scalable data pipelines, automating reporting processes, and ensuring client-facing performance data is accurate, timely, and defensible. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a deep understanding of investment data and a passion for improving systems, workflows, and reporting processes., * Own end-to-end delivery of institutional client reporting, including performance attribution, portfolio summaries, and client reporting packages.

  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned with business and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines connecting portfolio, performance, risk, and reporting systems.
  • Develop ETL processes and workflow automation solutions using Python, SQL, and modern data tools.
  • Design and maintain single-source-of-truth datasets to support reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Analyze and redesign reporting workflows to eliminate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop validation frameworks and automated controls to identify discrepancies in performance, position, cash flow, NAV, and attribution data.
  • Strengthen data governance practices and improve overall reporting reliability.
  • Enhance report design, usability, and clarity to improve client and stakeholder experience.
  • Explore intelligent automation and AI-assisted workflows that improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with investment, product, operations, compliance, and technology teams to support business initiatives and evolving reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: Experience working in financial data management, reporting, investment operations, asset management, hedge funds, or similar data-intensive environments.
  • SQL: Strong SQL skills, including advanced querying, data validation, data transformation, and data modeling.
  • Python: Experience using Python for data processing, workflow automation, and pipeline development.
  • Data Engineering: Experience building, supporting, and optimizing production-grade data pipelines.
  • Investment Data Knowledge: Understanding of portfolio accounting, performance calculations, attribution methodologies, reconciliation processes, and data integrity principles.
  • Process Improvement: Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and redesign workflows to improve scalability and operational effectiveness.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues across multiple systems.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts and data challenges clearly to both technical and business stakeholders., * Financial Platforms: Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Charles River, SimCorp, Advent/Geneva, Eagle, Enfusion, FIS, or similar investment management platforms.
  • Reporting Infrastructure: Experience supporting institutional reporting environments and client reporting workflows.
  • Automation: Exposure to workflow automation, reporting modernization, and intelligent process improvement initiatives.
  • Data Governance: Experience developing controls, validation frameworks, and data quality management processes.
  • Cloud & Modern Data Technologies: Familiarity with modern data architecture, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting environments.
