Job description

ATT Metrology Solutions is seeking a Polyworks Software Technician to support precision measurement projects at aerospace and advanced manufacturing facilities across the United States.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, travel, and working directly with customers to solve measurement and manufacturing challenges.

Technicians in this role support aircraft manufacturing, tooling validation, and precision assembly projects using advanced dimensional metrology equipment., * Develop, modify, and optimize inspection programs using PolyWorks Inspector for a variety of customer components and assemblies.

  • Analyze 3D scan data, point clouds, CAD models, and engineering drawings to create accurate inspection routines.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using laser trackers, portable CMMs, laser scanners, and other metrology equipment.
  • Compare measured data to CAD models and engineering drawings, identifying dimensional deviations and documenting results.
  • Generate clear, accurate inspection reports for customers in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and refine inspection routines to improve efficiency, repeatability, and measurement accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineers, measurement technicians, and customers to resolve dimensional and manufacturing issues.
  • Validate inspection results and ensure compliance with customer quality standards and internal procedures.
  • Maintain organized project files, inspection programs, and revision-controlled documentation.
  • Assist with first article inspections (FAI), production inspections, reverse engineering projects, and root cause investigations as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve inspection methods, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define measurement strategies, GD&T inspection plans, and process validation protocols.
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation including standard work, protocols, and customer deliverables.
  • Stay current with emerging dimensional metrology technologies and integrate forward-thinking solutions into customer projects.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, expanding the range of metrology services ATT provides.

Travel Expectations

This role involves frequent travel (up to 100%) to support customer projects across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with dimensional metrology systems (CMMs, portable arms, laser trackers, optical scanners, photogrammetry).
  • Strong skills in PolyWorks.
  • Experience with reverse engineering workflows and point cloud data processing.
  • Proficiency in measurement validation methods, including GD&T interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% for on-site project execution and customer support.
  • Familiarity with machining, fabrication, or product design considered a plus., * U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations
  • Valid driver’s license with REAL ID
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
