Job description

  • Maintains automated processing equipment in a chemical- processing environment, adhering to established procedures.
  • Trouble-shoots and repairs processing equipment, exterior structure and facilities, and performing other tasks associated with the repair of chemical processing equipment.
  • Ensure repairs return equipment and facilities to operational state that is in compliance with safety standards.
  • Performs maintenance on a variety of chemical processing equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Works from isometric drawings to fabricate plastic piping systems.
  • Write procedures as assigned by the System Specialist Supervisor.
  • Work toward Operational Excellence through 5S Methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the Cycle).
  • Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with a wide variety of hand-tools and shop machinery such as drill presses, welding equipment and other power equipment.
  • Able to generate, read and accurately work with isometric drawings.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance., * Experience with basic plastic welding and fabrication.

Summary pay range: $25-$35/hour

  • Additional Benefits: We provide position-based clothing, travel expenses, training and relocation assistance available., Duties are generally performed indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, in a 24-hour per day, seven days per week manufacturing environment. Handling and working with hazardous materials and chemical manufacturing equipment is routine. The employee may work in the presence of fumes or airborne particles, hot, toxic or corrosive chemicals, water, liquids and electrical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. When working in the presence of these hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protection such as: hardhat, respirator, hearing protection, protective clothing, safety glasses, safety footwear, etc. MLI is an alcohol and drug free workplace. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion.
