Job description

This position is responsible for support of the ACES corporate IT infrastructure. Specifically, this position will manage installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of corporate systems, including but not limited to client and server hardware, operating systems, and application software. Additional responsibilities include support of the virtualization environment, logical security, assisting the Service Desk with support tickets, and performing other tasks assigned by IT management., * Maintain VMware Infrastructure, ESXi hosts, PPDM backups

  • Second tier troubleshooting customer issues with infrastructure, 3rd Party software, internal developed software
  • Provide investigation, root cause analysis, and problem resolution
  • Ensure rapid response and resolution to customer service and support issues
  • Install and configure new server software, hardware, and related peripheral devices
  • Support the server operating system software including Windows, Linux, and VMware
  • Support server applications including Office 365 Exchange, SQL Server, ActiveBatch, and various 3rd party applications
  • Support the enterprise backup system, including hardware and software
  • Apply and maintain system security, patches, and configuration to meet corporate security goals
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the organization’s server and network infrastructure and operations
  • Make recommendations for new hardware, software, and services to meet corporate and departmental goals
  • Maintain a high level of system availability, stability, and performance
  • Monitor, fine-tune, and troubleshoot system and hardware performance and other issues
  • Participates in the research, evaluation, planning, and implementation of server hardware, software, server and business continuity and related projects, policies and procedures
  • Participates in business continuity exercises as requested and maintains system readiness for business continuity
  • Provide 24 hours a day / 7 days a week on-call support on a rotating basis with other team members
  • Adheres to all ACES corporate policies and complies with all ACES regulatory requirements, including but not limited to NERC, FERC, and relevant state regulations, as applicable to this position as well as maintaining compliance with SOC 1 activities, ISSP activities, and NERC CIP practices and procedures
  • Travel as required
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Technology or related degree preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of Infrastructure experience (Systems Administrator): VMware Technologies (or other Hypervisor), ESXi, Pure Storage Array
  • A minimum of 7 years of Infrastructure experience (Senior System Administrator): VMware Technologies (or other Hypervisor), ESXi, Pure Storage Array
  • Experience with backup and replication solutions - Zerto Data Protection, Dell Data Domain, PPDM, PPBS, Dell Cyber Recovery
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, Certificate Services, Microsoft SCCM, M365, Azure AD/Entra, Zabbix Monitoring, SQL, Windows Server, and some Linux
  • Experience with audit controls, SOC1 preferred
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities effectively; develop and execute short-term plans and prioritize conflicting demands
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively interact with users, technical staff, vendors and management
  • Ability to physically move electronic equipment including PCs, Monitors and printers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
