Job description

The Conversion and Placement Specialist manages prospective member leads and guides girls and volunteers through registration, onboarding, and troop placement, ensuring the successful formation and launch of sustainable Girl Scout troops. This role focuses on converting qualified leads into active members and viable troop structures by coordinating volunteer onboarding, assessing readiness for troop formation, and supporting leaders through troop launch.

  • Convert prospective girl and volunteer leads into active members through proactive follow-up, clear guidance on registration, and personalized support throughout the enrollment process.
  • Conduct readiness assessments with prospective volunteers and families to determine preparedness for troop formation and leadership responsibilities.
  • Guide new troop leaders through onboarding, ensuring required trainings are completed, and key volunteer roles are filled to successfully launch and sustain a troop.
  • Place new members into appropriate new or existing troops by assessing location, availability, grade-level alignment, and troop capacity to ensure strong matches and positive member experiences.
  • Support the formation and successful launch of new troops, coordinating early logistics and assisting leaders through initial troop setup and first meeting readiness.
  • Monitor newly launched troops and identify potential risks to troop sustainability, coordinating support or escalation when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in Salesforce by managing person accounts, documenting interactions, and tracking lead status, placements, and onboarding progress.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteer teams to align recruitment and placement efforts, ensuring timely troop formation and effective member engagement.
  • Document barriers to troop formation, stalled launches, or placement challenges, and share insights with leadership to improve recruitment and troop formation processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUCCESS METRICS

  • Achieve targeted conversion rates of prospective girl and volunteer leads into registered Girl Scout members.
  • Support the successful launch and sustainability of new troops, contributing to overall troop growth within the council.
  • Reduce the time from qualified lead to troop launch while maintaining strong volunteer leader retention at and shortly after troop launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in membership development, recruitment, sales, customer relationship management (CRM), volunteer engagement, community organization, or customer service.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations and familiarity with membership and population demographics preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to assess volunteer readiness and guide individuals through leadership onboarding and expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to role model and uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law in interactions with girls, caregivers, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Experience working in CRM systems and using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
