Mid-Level Developer

The developer will serve as the primary Laravel resource for an existing health and wellness coaching platform that is already in production. This is not a ground-up build - the platform is live and being used, so the right candidate should be comfortable maintaining, improving, and expanding an active production application.

This is a remote 1099 contractor position with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

About the Role

You will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and expanding an existing Laravel-based health and wellness coaching platform. The right candidate should be confident working independently, solving problems, communicating clearly, and making sound technical decisions.

This role requires strong Laravel and MySQL experience, as well as familiarity with APIs, third-party integrations, and modern development workflows. Experience working with OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude, or other LLM-based tools or integrations is also required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership as the primary developer for an existing Laravel-based application
• Maintain, improve, and enhance current platform functionality
• Develop, test, and deploy new features and improvements
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues independently
• Optimize MySQL queries, database structures, and application performance
• Work with APIs and third-party integrations
• Collaborate with other internal developers and technical team members
• Help maintain clean, secure, scalable, and reliable code
• Support ongoing improvements to application performance, reliability, and usability
• Apply best practices for security and compliance, especially in a health-focused environment
• Assist with AI/LLM-related integrations, workflows, or automations where applicable

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Mid-Level Laravel Developer to join our team on a part-time, contract basis. This role is ideal for a developer who is comfortable taking ownership of an existing Laravel application, improving current functionality, and helping build new features in a real-world, business-critical environment., * 2-4 years of hands-on professional experience with Laravel and PHP

• Strong working knowledge of MySQL, including query optimization and database design
• Experience working on production applications
• Experience with APIs and third-party software integrations
• Experience with Git or another version control system
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks
• Experience using or integrating OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude, or another LLM-based technology
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks without heavy oversight
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication and ability to provide regular progress updates
• Understanding of secure development practices
• Ability to work in an existing codebase and improve it over time

Preferred Experience

• Experience with health, wellness, coaching, pharmacy, compliance-focused, or data-sensitive applications
• Experience with AWS, server environments, or application deployments
• Experience with Laravel queues, jobs, notifications, or scheduled tasks
• Experience building automations, dashboards, portals, or internal business tools
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows, OpenAI API integrations, or LLM-powered features, The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a growing technical environment.
