Job description

  • The Governors of Holmeswood Methodist Primary School are looking to appoint a conscientious, approachable and effective School Business Support Officer to join our small and friendly team.
  • Responsibilities include a wide range of administrative duties, including financial administration (processing of invoices, ordering of resources, managing transactions/accounts and reconciling monthly Oracle reports).
  • The role requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with a key ability to self-manage workload. The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
  • We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and undertake training pertinent to their role.
  • The successful candidate will share and contribute to our vision to “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can” (John Wesley).

Requirements

4 GCSEs (or Equivalent) Grade 9 (A) to 4 (C) to include Maths and English. *

Essential Experience

  • It is essential that candidates are competent in the use of ICT, including use of MS Office Applications (Word & Excel) or equivalent.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and use time effectively.
  • Ability to communicate well with staff, children, parents and visitors.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. *

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in a school.
  • Experience of using either Bromcom, Arbor, SIMS, SIMS Finance or equivalent. Experience of working in a busy office environment. *
