Job description

We are looking for an experienced BI Analyst to join our data and analytics function within a leading insurance organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly data-driven environment, supporting business teams with actionable insights, reporting solutions, and data-led decision making across the organisation.

You will play a key role in translating complex business requirements into effective BI solutions, working closely with stakeholders, data teams, and technology functions to deliver meaningful analytics capabilities.

The Role

As a BI Analyst, you will support the development and delivery of reporting, dashboards, and analytical solutions that enable better business decisions.

You will work across the full BI lifecycle - from gathering requirements and analysing data through to building dashboards, improving data quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives., * Develop and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and business insights.
  • Work with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, operations, finance, and corporate functions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
  • Build data visualisations that communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support improvements to data quality, governance, and reporting standards.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Product teams to deliver BI capabilities.
  • Investigate data issues and provide root cause analysis.
  • Support data-driven transformation initiatives across the organisation.
  • Promote best practices around reporting, analytics, and self-service BI.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience extracting and manipulating data.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Understanding of data modelling, reporting structures, and analytics principles.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of the London Market / Lloyd’s insurance environment.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and enterprise data platforms.
  • Exposure to Azure data technologies or Microsoft data stack.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery and SDLC processes.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.

Benefits & conditions

London Hybrid Working (2-3 days per week in office) Salary up to £63,000, * Salary up to £65,000.
