Mobile App Developer, Early-Stage Project (Edinburgh)

We’re a small Edinburgh team building an interactive tourism app, a fun, story-driven way for travellers to explore cities, with a gamification element. We’re looking for a talented mobile app developer to help bring the first version to life.

This is a freelance contract to begin with, ideal for someone who enjoys early-stage projects and wants genuine ownership of what they build. For the right person, there’s a clear path to a paid, long-term role as the project grows.

You’d be working closely with the founder to build a cross-platform mobile app for iOS and Android, including features like maps, audio playback, in-app purchases, and user accounts.

Whether you’re an experienced developer or a recent graduate with a strong portfolio, we’d love to hear from you., * Experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and Android)

• Comfortable with cross-platform development (e.g. Flutter or React Native)
• Familiar with integrating maps, audio, and in-app purchases
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly
• Based in or near Edinburgh
• Right to work in the UK (required)
• A genuine interest in early-stage projects and building something from the ground up

Nice to have

• An interest in travel, culture, or storytelling
• Experience with app store submission and launch
