Job description

Beans & Brews Coffeehouse is a fast paced, fast growing local industry leader, with over 30 years of experience in the coffee industry, and over 80 corporate and franchise locations throughout Utah and the Mountain West. Beans & Brews specializes in coffee roasting, preparing specialty coffee and non-coffee beverages, sandwiches, snacks and treats, and providing extraordinary guest experiences throughout our Coffeehouses. Beans & Brews is seeking a Franchise Business Consultant, with experience in sales, customer support, and franchise development.

This is a full-time position. This position includes some travel to meetings, store openings, conferences and includes some weekend work and travel., The Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) serves as a trusted business partner to Beans & Brews franchise owners, providing operational guidance, coaching, and strategic support to help franchise locations achieve exceptional business performance while maintaining brand standards. The FBC works collaboratively with franchisees to identify opportunities for growth, improve operational execution, strengthen financial performance, and ensure a consistent guest experience across all locations.

Reporting directly to the Director of Franchise Operations, the Franchise Business Consultant builds strong relationships with franchise owners and their leadership teams through regular communication, store visits, business reviews, and ongoing consultation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with franchise owners and their management teams.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to evaluate operational performance, financial results, and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Provide coaching and operational guidance to franchise owners and managers to improve profitability, guest satisfaction, food quality, labor management, and overall store performance.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled restaurant visits to evaluate compliance with Beans & Brews brand standards, operating procedures, food safety requirements, and company initiatives.
  • Develop action plans with franchisees to address operational opportunities and monitor progress toward established goals.
  • Support franchisees during new store openings, ownership transitions, remodels, and other significant operational initiatives.
  • Partner with franchise owners to analyze financial statements, budgets, labor costs, food costs, and sales trends, recommending strategies to improve business performance.
  • Collaborate with Training, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other Support Center departments to ensure franchisees receive timely resources and support.
  • Assist franchise owners in implementing new products, promotions, technology, operational programs, and company initiatives.
  • Ensure franchisees remain compliant with franchise agreements, brand standards, operational policies, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Document store visits, action plans, and franchise communications accurately and consistently.
  • Monitor franchise performance metrics and proactively identify locations requiring additional support or intervention.
  • Participate in franchise meetings, conferences, training events, and regional meetings as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities to continually improve franchise operations and support.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Preferred minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in multi-unit restaurant operations, franchise operations, business consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience working with franchise business models preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), labor metrics, food cost, and operational reports to identify opportunities and recommend business solutions.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without direct supervisory authority.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience using restaurant operations, point-of-sale, scheduling, or business intelligence systems is preferred.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel, to support franchise locations, training events, and company meetings.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting franchisee success.
