Job description

As a Franchise Business Consultant (FBC), your primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive guidance and support to franchisees within an assigned area helping promote the successful operation of their businesses and growth of the brand. You will act as the primary liaison between the franchisor and franchisees, working to uphold brand standards and improve operational execution, marketing execution, sales growth, and the profitability of stores. Your role will involve regular travel to various franchise locations, where you will assess performance, offer strategic advice, and facilitate training and development initiatives. Primary Accountabilities Franchisee Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and nurture personal relationships with franchisees while aligning with brand and corporate objectives.
  • Independently provide comprehensive guidance and expert advice to franchise personnel on revenue generation, cost controls, marketing, purchasing, and compliance.
  • Lead the seamless opening of franchise restaurants, offering advisory support and facilitating team implementation from opening plan to grand opening.

Strategic Support and Development:

  • Evaluate business organizations within the restaurant industry and recommend best practice procedures and ideas to key stakeholders throughout the system.

  • Collaborate with franchisees in developing short- and long-term strategic plans consistent with the brand’s goals and financial success.
  • Lead franchisees in business growth through evaluation and strategic development recommendations, identifying opportunities and reviewing economic models.
  • Review franchisees’ economic reports and make key recommendations to the Director of Operations in the development of action plans for cost control areas.
  • Maintain regular communication and meetings with the Director of Franchise Operations, providing insights into key issues affecting financial health and operational integrity.
  • Improves franchisee capabilities by helping leverage company tools, available resources, and best practices across business functions especially in finance, marketing, and operations.

Leadership:

  • Build trust and credibility with supervisors, peers, and franchisees through active participation in round table discussions and workshops.
  • Take independent, prompt and appropriate action to address performance issues or conditions in troubled areas, proactively managing decisions that impact the company.
  • Effectively prioritize and inform the Director of Franchise Operations of significant issues, recommending potential solutions to challenges as they arise.

Training and Development:

  • Develop, coach, and mentor franchisees, assisting in the formulation of action plans for improvement and financial success.
  • Affect the formulation of franchisee training programs through strategic insight and advice that aligns with operational needs.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of new policies and procedures and evaluate their impact at franchisee locations through regular restaurant visits.

Guest and Associate Relations:

  • Help address and resolve guest complaints promptly, ensuring a quality brand experience.
  • Interact with guests as needed to answer questions and alleviate concerns, maintaining high standards of customer service.

Auditing:

  • Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures and conduct audits, including relating to food safety, to maintain operational excellence.
  • Complete and review Brand Standard Assessments with franchisees and operators, utilizing them as tools for operational improvement and development.

Requirements

  • Education: This position requires college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in QSR environment.
  • Skills/Competencies/Certifications:
  • ServSafe certification required.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, while troubleshooting and problem solving with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Fully understands key performance drivers of restaurant businesses.
  • Flexible thinker capable of addressing diverse restaurant issues.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of maximizing unit level economics.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and develop organizational capability as well as achieve results with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, and a deep knowledge of restaurant Point of Sale systems preferred.
  • Experience working with franchisees or in a franchised organization is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel a minimum of 75% with overnight stays required.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or weekend hours.
  • Occasional on-site attendance for corporate meetings and events.
