Job description
You’ll lead the strategy, performance, and evolution of our IP network and operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. Day to day, you’ll:
- Lead and develop network engineering, NOC, and field operations teams
- Define and execute Dragonfly’s IP network strategy and architecture roadmap
- Design, implement, and optimize core, edge, transport, and access networks
- Oversee network operations, incident response, and escalation management
- Drive network reliability, uptime, and performance across all service areas
- Design and manage routing, peering, and transport (BGP, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN)
- Lead major network deployments, upgrades, and expansion initiatives
- Implement network improvements including automation, monitoring, and IPv6
- Establish and standardize operational procedures, best practices, and KPIs
- Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement following incidents
- Manage vendor relationships, including hardware, carriers, and transit providers
- Lead vendor evaluations, RFPs, and technology selection decisions
- Partner with executive leadership on network strategy, planning, and investments
- Manage network budgets, forecasting, and infrastructure planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of network engineering experience, ideally in ISP or telecom environments
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
- Deep expertise in IP networking technologies, including:

- BGP, OSPF, IS-IS - MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN - IPv4 & IPv6 - Carrier Ethernet and routing/switching platforms
- Experience designing and operating large-scale or carrier-grade networks
- Strong understanding of network operations, monitoring, and performance management
- Experience leading network deployments, upgrades, or infrastructure builds
- Proven ability to manage vendors, evaluate technologies, and drive decisions
- A hands-on leader who can dive into technical challenges when needed
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability and performanceNice to Have
- Experience in a regional ISP, broadband provider, or telecom environment
- Familiarity with optical or transport networking technologies
- Experience with network automation or scripting
- Industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or similar)
