Job description

A growing technology services organization is seeking a senior Network Architect to own the design and evolution of a carrier-grade network foundation supporting a large portfolio of geographically distributed locations.

This role is responsible for defining network architecture standards across core infrastructure, distributed access networks, and ISP-grade services. The Network Architect will lead architectural strategy, guide engineering execution, and play a key role in scaling a highly available, resilient network environment as the organization expands.

This is a leadership-level, hands-on architecture role suited for candidates with deep experience in telecom, ISP, campus, or large multi-site network environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent advanced experience designing carrier-grade ISP networks

  • 10-15+ years of experience in core/ISP networking and large-scale network architecture

  • Proven experience designing POP architectures, including routing, switching, redundancy, and resilient backbone connectivity

  • Strong expertise in Layer 3 routing and resiliency, including BGP and OSPF

  • Experience architecting Layer 2 transport delivery to distributed locations, including aggregation, handoff, and service demarcation

  • Experience owning CGNAT strategy and supporting IPv4/IPv6 transition planning

  • Ability to define and maintain engineering standards, diagrams, MOPs, and operational procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor network engineers and provide architectural leadership

  • Experience working with carrier-grade networking platforms, such as Calix, Juniper, and Nokia

  • Willingness to participate in on-call leadership for major incidents and planned maintenance windows

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally - Experience designing for high availability, scalability, and traffic resiliency

  • Background in telecom, ISP, campus, or large multi-site network environments

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, Nokia NRS, or equivalent
