Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer specializing in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and SaaS (Software as a Service) security to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud security architectures that safeguard our cloud infrastructure, applications, and data. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud security engineering, network security protocols, and IT infrastructure management, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, FIPS, and NIST frameworks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to enterprise-level security initiatives and advance our organization’s cybersecurity posture in a rapidly evolving digital landscape., * Develop and implement comprehensive cloud security strategies for OCI and SaaS environments, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and industry best practices.

  • Conduct detailed vulnerability assessments, security risk analyses, and threat detection investigations across cloud infrastructure and connected networks.
  • Manage security event management systems (SIEM), perform log analysis, and monitor security alerts to identify potential incidents proactively.
  • Configure and maintain network security devices including firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and network protocols such as IPsec and TCP/IP to ensure secure connectivity.
  • Oversee identity & access management (IAM), including authentication mechanisms like LDAP, SSO, RBAC, and PKI implementations for secure user access.
  • Lead incident response efforts by investigating security breaches or anomalies, coordinating incident recovery activities, and documenting lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams on system hardening, system security plans, disaster recovery planning, high availability configurations, and system monitoring tools such as New Relic or SolarWinds.
  • Ensure compliance with information security standards such as ISO 27001/27000 series, FedRAMP, FISMA, COBIT, and GPO policies.
  • Perform vulnerability research using attack frameworks; recommend remediation strategies; support vulnerability management programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats related to cloud computing environments like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, VMware vSphere, and open-source operating systems including Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field; advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCSP are preferred.
  • Proven experience in cloud security engineering with extensive knowledge of OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and SaaS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, routing protocols (OSPF/EIGRP/BGP), load balancing solutions, DNS/DHCP services.
  • Hands-on experience with network support tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG; familiarity with network installation and management practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), Python; experience with automation tools like Ansible or Terraform for cloud architecture deployment.
  • Deep knowledge of IT security management frameworks including NIST standards; experience implementing system hardening techniques on various operating systems including Windows and UNIX variants.
  • Familiarity with encryption technologies (SSL/TLS), open-source tools like SELinux; expertise in system administration for Debian-based distributions or openSUSE.
  • Excellent analytical skills for conducting vulnerability assessments; ability to perform detailed security analysis using SIEM platforms like Splunk or Log analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical issues clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
